perabeats is coming to you this year with the newest perabeats GO project for photography with a series of events to put you in pace and drive you deep. The First Phase. This is a photography competition under the theme photo-stories. where your

Workshop
13th of June 2021 : The workshop will be held from 6pm onwards.
Contest Deadline
22nd of June 2021 : The Deadline for the submission of Photo-Stories. Submit before 11:59 pm today.
Voting
From 24th to 26th of June 2021 : Voting season for the 'Most Popular photo-story'.

PHOTO-STORY CONTEST
If you want to involve in photography, to learn and experiment, the "අර්ථ 2021" Photography Contest is your opportunity! Register now for the competition under one of the two categories, 'DSLR / Mirrorless Photography and Mobile Photography. The theme is 'telling stories through photographs'. The submissions should be a collection of photographs you put together that tell a story.
WORKSHOP
Join with our online workshop on the 13th of June where we talk about how to tell a story through photographs and concepts and techniques of capturing emotions with one of the leading photography professionals in Sri Lanka. This will undoubtedly be an unforgettable moment in life as we announce the winners of the
contest. It also marks the launching of “අර්ථ" magazine which is a milestone for our initiative too.
The talk show will feature one of the best youtube content creators of the time. It provides an
opportunity to share the experience and knowledge of the guest and the best competitor with you
while celebrating your victory.
After all the facts and experiences gathered through the informative events of the month, sit back
and enjoy an entertaining discussion about the passion on the sunday evening of 27th June as we wrap up අර්ථ 2021.

The Story of the Magazine
This is a novel initiative for perabeats GO projects. This year for the first time in perabeats history, the project අර්ථ 2021 crew have decided to launch a digital Photography Magazine. The first issue of the "අර්ථ Magazine" will be launched during the talk show on 27th June. In accordance with the project, the magazine will also host a theme of 'Photo-Stories' + emotion capturing and much more.
Not only it will be featuring iconic captures of amateur photographers, the Magazine will include articles about fundamentals, novel trends in photography and also reviews from experts. The effort of inspiring emerging photographers and enthusiastic learns will not stop there, this first issue of the අර්ථ Magazine will also feature some of the best photo-story ideas of the contestants!

What is a Photo-Story?

Can you observe something beyond what is normally seen? Can capture a story?
A Photo-Story is a photograph or a sequence of photographs that can tell a story. The story can be a simple incident or a deep idea revealed by the way you capture. The story can be as simple and funny as the dog and the man sequence or as deep as the two gloves which are photographs from the same artist. Put yourself as the narrator and look for for frames that assemble a single concept or an incident. It does not has to be shots taken in sequence as long as it assembles the single story or idea you want to express
The submissions should be made as a sequence of 2 - 6 photographs. You are free to explore and create a story. What is evaluated in the contest is the story behind the photographs and the effort you have taken to capture it. So be creative and keep experimenting.
